Authorship Criteria
Life Sciences, Technology and Sustainability Education (LSTSE) follows internationally recognized principles of responsible authorship and contribution transparency. Authorship is granted only to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and who take responsibility for the content, accuracy, and integrity of the published work.
The journal adopts the principle that authorship should reflect meaningful academic contributions rather than administrative position, institutional affiliation, funding contribution alone, or participation without intellectual involvement. All individuals listed as authors must meet the authorship requirements and must agree to be accountable for the published article.
An author should have made substantial contributions to one or more of the following research activities:
- Research conception and design, including formulation of research questions, development of theoretical frameworks, study planning, or methodological decisions.
- Data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation, including collection, processing, statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, computational analysis, or interpretation of research findings.
- Manuscript development, including drafting substantial sections of the article or making significant intellectual revisions that improve the scientific quality of the manuscript.
- Critical revision of the manuscript, including evaluation of theoretical arguments, methodological approaches, interpretation of results, and academic contribution.
- Final approval of the published version, ensuring that the manuscript accurately represents the research process and findings.
All listed authors must:
- Approve the final version of the manuscript before publication.
- Accept responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the research.
- Ensure that research procedures comply with relevant ethical standards.
- Participate in addressing questions, corrections, or concerns related to the published article.
Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately in the acknowledgment section. Contributions such as administrative support, general supervision, funding acquisition, data access without intellectual contribution, or language editing alone do not automatically qualify for authorship.
The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating communication with the journal during submission, revision, and publication stages. The corresponding author must ensure that all authors have approved the submission, that author order has been agreed upon by all contributors, and that any changes in authorship follow the journal’s authorship change procedures.
LSTSE does not permit practices such as guest authorship, honorary authorship, ghost authorship, or inappropriate authorship attribution. Any concerns regarding authorship disputes, contribution recognition, or changes in author lists are handled according to the journal’s Authorship Complaints Policy and established publication ethics principles.
The journal follows internationally accepted publication ethics standards, including recommendations from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and responsible authorship practices applied in scholarly publishing.
